Stop Smoking People…
Posted by Kanesha Stith on April 1, 2009
Now at a whopping $9.00 for cigarettes, many people begin to quit smoking.
Smoking is a hard addiction to give up, but many people are starting to now. The Health Department is all for the increase in the price of cigarettes. People need to lay off the damn cigarettes can they not see that they are an express train to death. People try to help them and they do not want the help. But now that smoking is becoming an expense, just as gas has become, they want to quit. I think the increasing prices of gas and cigarettes is good because it will help people in the end. Americans are so caught up in doing what they want to. They do not want any one telling them they should not drive their cars everyday or smoke two packs of cigarettes a day. But now with the increasing prices, they have no choice but to stop smoking and driving their cars everyday or they will have to pay for it. Read the rest of this entry »

The MTA Keeping Tabs On Customers?
Posted by Kanesha Stith on February 25, 2009
Today was another normal day. I went on with my life as I do any other Wednesday morning. Wake up, Get dressed, eat, and walk to the B12 in Brooklyn, NY. But this morning I heard something that made me chuckle. A MTA worker drove pass me and told me to move away from the bus station. I thought he was being arrogant so I moved a little. Then he told me all of the NYC bus stations are equipped with cameras in which you are being watched. Sounds good for someone who rides the bus after dark, but no. I was on my cellphone and he told me to move away from the bus station or else I could be fined $1,000.
He said its producing radiation and I could be giving someone radiation. So the cameras are there to document you on the phone. its scans your phone, tells who you were on the phone with, what time and how long. Isn’t this something? Someone comes to your home and presents you the fine of $1,000, as if the economy isnt doing bad now. If you try to deny it your phone will get confiscated as if you where in high school. Have you every seen a MTA cleaning truck? They drive around and clean the bus stations. They are also equipped with a camera. The man told me he would have taken a picture of me, but his camera was frozen. Thank God for cold freezing weather. But he said he would have just warned me.
Smoking, eating or drinking will gain you a $150 ticket as well. If you would like to use you phone, smoke, eat, or drink you have to move away from the bus station. I personally think this is just a way for you to miss the bus. I am currently researching more on this topic.

Is It Opened Or Is It Closed?
Posted by Kanesha Stith on February 17, 2009
Coney Island was supposedly closing for years now. It was closed at a particular time and then the park was opened in the summer time. This 9.4 acre property containing housing, shopping, parks, and much amusement was saved with $100 million by a civic prominent ccivic organization. This memorable park has been around for decades including the infamous Coney Island Beach. With the present recession, no one can predict how well the amusement park will do. Jesse Masyr said to the NY times, “We want to create a 21st- century Coney Island.”
